Those of you living separately from the in-laws, what is the norm/ standard of calling them up for chit chat.
Like everyday, alternate days, once a week, once a month? how many times, provided you usually meet them once a week.
Re: Calling up in-laws
Why the need to call if you’re meeting once a week?
Re: Calling up in-laws
Add them to a WhatsApp group and send them pointless memes. They will feel connected with minimum effort

Re: Calling up in-laws
I am wondering as well.
We see them every other week, sometimes less. My MIL sends me random forwards and pictures sometimes, and I respond. The very first time I did call her, she thought I was calling to tell her I’m pregnant (I wasn’t and wouldn’t share that news over the phone!).

Once a week phone call
Re: Calling up in-laws
I have never called my in-laws just to chit-chat. The only time I speak to them on the phone is if my husband calls them OR they call my husband.

Re: Calling up in-laws
ask your husband about his family’s expectations…and do it accordingly…its not such a big deal only takes a bit of effort …but goes a long way in showing your effort to connect…
Re: Calling up in-laws
We do have a whatsapp group of all SIS/BIL and are well connected but MIL is not on the group, hence need to make phone call to her. Just confused as don’t want it to be too much or too less.
