^If you look gray you're probably not using the right color even though it may seem so. You need a more yellow/orange foundation to counteract the grayness. And cakeyness happens when you either use too much product, have oily skin, or if you don't prep and moisturize your skin correctly.

I actually have used darker than my skin tone but it doesnt work. although i havent tried more yellow than the one i use...i have dry skin..and i admit i use too much product:(
moisturizer at first then the primer, strobe cream or some illuminating product then the foundation, translucent powder...is it alot im doing:(???
^^Will def try that! I always wanted glowy dewy look but even if i use highlighting products it doesnt help achieving thatl! Marwah i just envy ur skin like anything Mashallah its flawless and looks healthy!
Moisturize REALLY well and allow for it to absorb by waiting 5 mins before you use any other product. Then use your primer...your foundation should not only match your skin color it should also match the type of skin too. If you don't have much pigmentation you can mix-in a moisturizer with your foundation too. For the 'dewy' look you can add-on a cream highlighter.
Sometimes I use lip liner instead of lipstick to color my lips. I don't know if this would be considered a tip....but I think it looks neater, more well defined, and makes your lips appear fuller...especially if you use a pinkish-brown or nude color.
This is so true.. I tend to use it to fill in as well..
It also makes a really good base if you're wearing lipstick or gloss over it so it stays on a lot longer.. My lips are naturally v.dry so I leave them totally bare they end up looking awful, with liner on them tho I have no problems at all.. Works wayy better on me than any balm I've tried..
Also this isn't really a makeup tip but if you are wearing lippy or gloss and are about to have a drink lick a tiny bit of the glass (in a subtle way!) to prevent leaving a big fat mark :D
I'm no makeup expert, but I think this works really well: to brighten the undereye area (popular with Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Beyonce...) apply a cream concealer one or two shades lighter than your natural skin tone in a 'triangular' shape under each eye. Blend out the harsh edges really well and set with a translucent powder.
