I joined this forum right before I got engaged last year. It was a spur of a moment engagement but this forum and all of you guppans helped me so much in helping me figure out my dress, my hairstyle, and whether I should leave my dupatta on or off. I got so many other wonderful ideas from here in regards to music and gift ideas, etc. as well!
This forum has been unbelievable. I am now planning for my wedding and Gupshup is by far the best tool I have :) The designer who is making my baraat lehngaa was someone who a guppan suggested. Getting ideas for other wedding related function clothing has also come from here. I am continuing to get many ideas from here as time goes on!!! I have started a few threads in regards to cultural aspects of our wedding and the discussions on them have always been very interesting and often eye opening. Lastly, whenever I open up a thread to ask for help ...whether it is a PM or post... someone is always willing and ready to offer tips, advice and support. This gupshup forum makes me feel less alone during this process.
In all honesty - The best part of gupshup's wedding forum has been that I have made friends with two guppans who I keep in touch with outside of gupshup. One of my closest friends passed away last year about 2 weeks after my engagement....she was my only Pakistani friend. Her loss is one which I still feel everday... but the guppans that I befriended were a blessing from god. I now have two friends who I can count on for advice, support, getting ideas, sharing secrets, etc. thanks to Gupshup..... which is really amazing.
The only thing I think that would help make this forum better than it already is there to be tabs/categories made. So that way it would be easier to find the threads for makeup or threads on stage decoration for example. There could be sub-tabs/sub-categories based upon locality.
That is the only thing I can really think of :)
