Absolutely hypocritical.
But tell me another thing.....why the need for anyone to publicize this information in the first place?
Virginity is a physical state, which you can find out with sufficient physical examination (not 100% accurate, I grant you that). But in our culture, pre-marital sex is an extreme act of going astray.
Emotional purity, on the other hand, is much harder to prove and thus its a waste a lot of time proving whether the dude/tte is emotionally unattached. You can check out the rumor-mills and grapevine, but it may not tell u that the dude is in love with Julia Roberts or the girl has fallen for the guy next door but never told him.
So, if a dude/tte has no pre-marital physical sex, but had lots of affairs, its for him/her to come clean and to archive the whole history; or to forget the whole past and start afresh. If s/he wishes to call him/herself a virgin, whats the problem. Its very difficult to differentiate between infatuation, lust, crush and love. So if my 15 year old cousin is in love with Sandra Bullock or my 17 year old friend goes out to dinners with his girl friend, while the two seem completely different, but in essence both of them are emotionally non-virgins. Isn’t that so?
So why beat it to death?
