Lately a lot of pakistani industries are trying to persue the govt to let them import stuff from india. be it meat, vegetables, newspapers, machinery, movies, fibre link for communication etc etc. It seems that general thinking among the business people in pakistan is that they are gonna benefit from indian goods.:k:

LAHORE - The production of Pakistan shoe industry would be further increased if the government allow to import of shoe components from India to the local show manufacturers. Presently Pakistani shoe producers have been importing almost 50 to 60 per cent shoe manufacturing components from Europe and United States. They have been paying very high price for it, whereas the same quality items are available from India at 10 time’s cheaper rates than Europe and US.
These were the views of participants of the 8th International Juft Show organised by Pakistan Footwear Manufacturer Association at a local hotel on Tuesday.
Nasir Rafiq, manager export of Bata Pakistan Ltd talking to The Nation said that Indian vendor industry of shoe manufacturing components is very strong and developed from Pakistani industry, whereas, the Pakistani leather is number one in the world. He said that Pakistani producers have been importing almost 80 per cent components from various countries of the world, while India has been exporting the same components to the whole world.
He was of the view that if government include all the basic 31 shoe-making components into the importable items list from India then the production of local shoe industry will greatly benefit . Due to this the competition among the local industry would increase and prices would be reduced, he added. He further said the government should protect that segment of local industry, which is performing well.
Shamaz Wali, manager exports of Servis said impact of import of shoe-making components from India would be positive for the local industry. He was of the view that through this step not only quality of local shoes would improve but prices would also be reduced. He said that price of shoe components which are quoted by the Indian companies are very competitive.
Mani Shanker Almal, President of Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) said that basic objective of Indian association of participating in this exhibition is to strengthen trade relationship between the two countries and achieve growth in the footwear industry. He said that Indian industry needs good quality leather , which can import from Pakistan as Pakistan is highly strong in footwear and leather. Whereas, Pakistan needs the good quality footwear components which can be catered through India, he added.
He said that currently one the major hurdles while exporting the goods to Pakistan is that the supply has to be routed through Dubai, which makes it very costly and almost 20 per cent expensive then the direct route and also posing time constraints. He said that if both the governments of India and Pakistan allow the trade through Wagha Border which is faster, economical and convenient at the both ends would be further expanded the shoe industry of the both countries.
He said that IFCOMA has planned to organised an exhibition in Pakistan at the end of this year. A large number of components and shoe manufacturers from India would participate in that exhibition, he added.
Vijay Nijhawan a participant of exhibition from India said that his company has been producing fancy raw material and shoes. He said scope of its product in Pakistan is very vast, as Pakistani producers have been purchasing the same product at very higher rates. He was of the view that if Pakistani Government allow to its fancy shoe producers to buy the raw material from India then the prices of fancy shoes would be sharply reduced in Pakistan.

pakistan can import a lot of things from india at cheaper rates like tea,leather.pharmachuticals,chemicals,petrochemicals and ofcourse kafirs by easing visa sanctions:D etc .pakistan is india's new found dumping ground.

Real trade should only start after the Kashmir issue is resolved.. Until then we have to be very careful of integration of our two economies. India may use this to have a resolution that favors them…
