Cake Table

how would you want it? in front of stage, middle of dance floor or in the corner?

i recently saw some beautiful ones with flowers and candles all over
what would be your ideal way to decorate it?

Re: cake table

in front of the headtable, if you're having one. if not, to the side of the stage cos it gets in the way of the stage.

Re: cake table

Great thread Pareezay!!! I want a wedding cake too (inshAllah...not sure if it'll happen though)

Can people please post pics???

Also, does anyone have exp in decorating a wedding cake with fresh flowers etc???

Re: cake table

there's already a thread on wedding cakes- please do a search.

Re: cake table

If u put the cake table to the side of the stage, pls make sure it's in an area where it will look good in pix, i.e good background etc.

Side of stage is good bcos that way ppl can keep an eye on it to keep it safe from marauding kids sticky fingers... (And the guests can feast their eyes on it all day long while drooling bcos they can't get to taste it yet - maximum appreciation).

Decorating a wedding cake with fresh flowers is very easy and looks professional and effective. Just use the same flowers as bouquet / in same colour scheme as rest of wedding, and use matching ribbon.

Ensure u put the flowers on just b4 the event starts so that they keep fresher for longer.

Re: cake table

I posted loads of pics in an earlier thread. Can you merge both?

Re: cake table

How to display and cut your wedding cake?

Re: cake table

those are my brothers photos. please take them down.

Re: cake table

My wedding cake was assembled on five different cake stands because it was actually five different cakes instead of the traditional 3 or 4 tiered cake.

Re: cake table

PSquared, not fair post ur wedding pics :naraz:

And i would like to have my wedding cake prbably somewhere near the stage but not exactly in the middle…

Re: cake table

Traditionally your bridesmaids are supposed to place their flowers on the table, your toasting flutes, and your cake cutting set should be displayed on your cake table. I think toasting flutes will not work in a desi Muslim setup, though.

You can put different photos on the cake table. Ideal photos would be the bride's mom and dad feeding each other cake and the groom's mom and dad doing the same or maybe married grandparents/sisters/brothers/close friends.

A special touch would be to add a little framed explanation of the presence of pictures on your cake tale. Something like "Today we are not only celebrating our special day, but also honoring those that have made a life of marriage" would work fine. Write that on top and then write the names of the people, their wedding dates and duration of marriage starting from the longest. . But any memorable wedding photos of family, friends would do even if they aren't "Cake themed" with some small votive candles.

You can also decorate the table in rose petals in your wedding colors, shells and brown sugar sand under the cake if you have a beach themed wedding, artificial snow flakes for a winter themed one.

Just putting up the words 'I DO' with a table full of flowers/petals and votives will also look good. Maybe 'MashAllah' for a desi wedding.

A lighted, decorated arch can also be kept behind the cake table too.

Hope this helps!
