Cake pops without frosting?..............now that's just sad :(
You will probably need a really moist cake and I'm sure it should be fine (sticking together wise)

Guac, I really no likey frosting. Also, Im one of those people who believe 'If I do not like it, no one must like it!' Especially when it comes to my kids. They are mine, they must live, breathe and eat like I do (till July).
I still like the ones you posted, they look like flowers and I like flowers.

I'm no baking expert, nor have I tried this, but how about baking a Victoria sponge as normal and then using a melon baller to cut out the spherical shapes?

MissC - The problem is the sticks. Cake on its own won't hold in the sticks.

I dont know if its too late, but here is a recipe for cake batter truffles that doesnt have any frosting

You can present them in mini cupcake liners or also on sticks
