Cake box mix: I would prefer to mix the ingredients myself as I like less sugar in my cakes, so I just bake a normal victoria sponge and then add frosting?

Since you don’t want to use cling wrap, I think you would like using cellophane wrap

It’s good you are doing a trial run, when it was my first time I tried it the day before and it was horrible!
