I love baking and want to find out how to prevent fruit from getting to the bottom of the cake. For example, i baked a pineapple cake with pineapple slices placed on the top of the cake before putting it in the oven and when it was baked, the pineapple had gone right through to the bottom..how can i prevent that?
I find if you coat the fruit with flour before adding to the cake batter you have a better chance of the fruit not sinking to the bottom, also try making the pieces smaller.

Thank You!
Why not try making pineapple upside down cake, that way the slices will definitly be on the top.
Where do you live? Simple pick up a box of Betty Crocker Pineapple Cake MIx and recipe is on the side. In any case you need a box of pineapple cake mix or lemon cae mix. Mix the batter according to package directions. Now you also need a can of sliced pineapple, brown sugar, butter & whipped cream.
Basically take about 2 spons of butter and melt into the pan and spred melted butter evenly. Then sprinkle an even coating of brown sugar across the bottm of pan. Then arrange pineapple slices on the bottom. If you want place a marachino cherry in between each pineapple slice. Then pour the batter over the slices and bake. As soon as cake is baked and no longer raw take it out of the oven. and spray whipped cream onto it while its very hot so it can absorb into the cake. (whip cream is extra richness, dont have to do it). Once cake cools a little...loosen the sides by running a knife along the sides. Grab a plate over the cake pan, and flip the cake onto the pan....Woula....pineapple upside down cake. its very simple and veryyy yummy served with extra whip cream/ice cream /chai :)
