my son’s 2nd birthday is on 16th of dec. i want to make at home but i dont know how to decorate cake. i tried fresh cream icing twice and failed , it was runny and did not stayed. so please give me some foolproof recipe that a newbie like me can make easily . i will be making a chocolate cake as my kids like it. i really want to make a nice looking cake for my son.

why don't you try icing sugar mixed with lemon juice for the icing...it's quite easy to handle.
