Question regarding tiered cakes. How do u get to know quantity of batter required for each pan. Especially If ur doing a different flavor in each tier..
Say if I’m making just a 6" cake how much batter I’ll need? Any recipe I follow normally is for 8" or 9" pans.

You’ll need to figure it out. It depends on how high your cake will be. And yes usually they’re for 9"-10" cake pans. You could make half the recipe and see how it turns out. But usually 6" cake pans aren’t as deep, so if you’re making a tiered cake you’d want to bake 2 (or 3 depending on how high u want it) 6" pans and stack them to give to cake a much nicer look.
I don’t half my recipes. I usually make some more cake and freeze it for making cake pops later on.
