Orgs cannot really recover from such past by simply getting rid of a few hot heads who rightly or wrongly have been seen as representing them.
You need new group, new brand, new names etc. Even a "new stronger tide" is insufficient. And it has to commence with an article of incorporation not unlike "we the people". It also has to specifically denounce the radical groups and strategies.
All that is the simple part.
Then they have to walk the walk.
