Caffeine or no?

Do you take caffeine in any way like tea, coffee or coke etc? If yes, how much?

And how would you suggest anyone to reduce it. Please be practical

Welcome to GS.. hope you’ll have a nice time here..

Yes I’ve been taking tea since my childhood.. Normally I take 3 to 4 cups daily.. beside that I dont like coke much.. but I used to love it..

I honestly dont know how to suggest it.. but I think if you’ve a strong mind, you can let go of it just like that..

How much is a difficult question because have never measured it. But I always make strong chaye (when not making doodhpatti) & balance it with milk. And Pepsi 3-4 times a week & daily in extreme summer. There is some percentage of caffeine in chocolates also. So when you eat any food with chocolates in it such as crackers, cookies, ice creams or simply chocolates, that’s also caffeine.

and offcourse you can reduce it any time. You only must have the will power to do it. Take it down gradually to avoid withdrawal effects but if you can sleep any time of the day whenever you want then you can just stop drinking it and sleep as much as tour body wants to. When you finally wake up after completing all the hours of missed sleep of the past due to being over caffeinated. Then commit yourself to a caffeine free life in future. The next number of days, weeks or months you spend without caffeine depends on how strong willed you are to resist caffeine. For me that time period is never more than a few days. So those very practical guidelines I have just suggested to you are good to help you sleep more for the most part. For permanamt removal of caffeine addiction, I will share my practical tips whenever I discover them.

Most welcome.

I take coffee and tea sometimes and I?ve mostly cut out soft drinks. In my situation if I had to reduce caffeine intake I would reduce my frequency of taking coffee or go with decaf.

alllllll day, errrr day

I am not into coffee at all. I will push myself to drink green tea or herbal tea for the health benefits. But I LOVE Pepsi. I know there are all manners of poison in that kaala paani, but I love it!. Thankfully, I drink it occasionally unless I’m going through a phase.

And how I got rid of coffee addiction was that one fine morning, I just got up & decided I don’t like it & don’t want to drink it. No ifs/buts. I just stopped making & drinking it. I was so fed up of addiction because it was keeping me too hyper, sleepless & worrisome. I had to switch to tea to help though. But it worked. I think that was more will power quitting coffee. Now I make nestle’ s latte macchiato once a month or once ever 2 months when I am craving it too bad. Otherwise no daily coffee in my life anymore.

No coffee no cry :cb:

Thori si jo pee li hai, chori to nai ki hai.

Aur , nasha chai/coffee men hota to nachti pyali

Figmento, then why is caeffine called addictive? bolo bolo

I would say no…or denpending upon your condition …

.

The only caffeinated beverage I like is qahwa and I have it once in a while. I’m not addicted to caffeine.
Wean yourself off it gradually. Reduce half a cup every 2 days.

Chucking caffeine is not that difficult if your caffeine intake is already not too high. I usually have couple of cups of coffee/tea during the whole day and get a bit of headache if I don’t have it in the morning but it’s nothing I can’t cope with. During Ramadan, I stop having coffee/tea all together right from day 1. Usually the first 2, 3 days are a bit of annoyance while sitting in front of computer at work trying to concentrate but after that initial phase, body gets used to it and don’t feel anything.
