There is no English equivalent of Taveez Ganda.

Fifty two percent (52%) of the respondents in a national survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan said they believed in “Taveez Ganda”, a traditional practice of appealing to the saints, which many also regard as a superstition. In the same survey, 44% said they believed in kala Jadoo (Black Magic) and 40% said they believed in palmistry.

The survey was carried out among a national sample of men and women from all the four provinces of the country comprising a cross section of people belonging to various age, income and education groups.
