Cadet College Islamabad

Can you guys tell me anything about this school. I was told of it by a friend via the web, but the website doesnt seem to say whether they follow A levels/K12 system (ie real school) or Pakistani system.

I thought it was the ICC cricket site at first. :))

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

ohh puhleez don’t swank… the Pakistani system beats K12 any day! O and A-levels are a notch higher in their curriculum, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to be disdainful towards the system which produces some very fine calibre students who go on to become qualified professionals … besides it’s the system for the masses.

To my knowledge ICC has the usual Pakistani system of studies.

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

C'mon yaar, no disrespect to the Pakistani education system, but its not regarded as highly as the likes of the British system (esp) and in most cases the North American one either.

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

Why do I always hear of education being compared against North America or England???

Other parts of europe have much better education example, Norway, Denmark, Germany etc

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

Don't put ur child in a boarding school, nomatter how good it is.

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

Like I said... the G.C.E.s I can agree with, but not with the K12 system which lags behind at least 2 years when compared to the Pakistani system - I can say this from first hand experience with international students... other than their capacity in English itself, someone with an F.Sc. can beat students here who've done grades 12 or 13 on any given day.

Rizwan:

I cannot comment on the European systems much. I know a tiny bit abt the German Abitur (sp) from friends, ditto the French system. But here global comparisons are (nearly exclusively) made with the US system.

Umar:

Then why isnt the FSc regarded as adequate for entry into any Western university.*

  • Pretty much.

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

Not true... most Unis... including the top Unis require is a high enough score on it - say 80%+ along with a good score on the TOEFL or another test of English.

Also, there's a lack of awareness to the curriculum details... and once Univs get to see the syllabus, they're "pretty much" :) convinced of the rigour of the system.

Again, I've been a part of all three systems, i.e. O-Levels ==> F.Sc. (tried it for a year) ==> A-Levels and then teaching in the K-12 system... and I can say this from my own personal experience.

Re: Cadet College Islamabad

Its great if the standard is solid, I'd like for it to be recognized globally.
