Cable car project on track
Plans for a cable car service in the city appear to be on track. The proposed 50-car project is expected to be completed within a year, will cost Rs 600 million and will stretch from the Ravi National Park to Jahangir’s Tomb, sources in the Punjab secretariat told Daily Times, adding that the chief minister would by next week put together a committee to ensure implementation of the project. Parks and Horticulture Authority Director General Shabbir Ahmed said an engineer from Patriata, near Murree, has designed the project. The track will be 3.8km long and will be built in two stages, said Mr Ahmed. He said formation of a committee is being considered but that nothing has yet been finalised.
