Now. I know a lot of you dont have a personal experience in driving Cab’s :)but still i wanted to ask it.
As I was heading back to home today from work around 4:00 I usually tune into my favorite talk show …THE Jon Moore show on NEWS TALK 10:10 CFRB, its a famous talk radio show here in Ontario, Canada. Anywayz the issue he was discussing was a lot of Muslim Cab drivers reject fairs on the Basis of religious grounds. Example, they wont take customers that have a dog, or they wont take anyone in who is carrying alcohol even if the customer is not drunk. ..etc..etc
So the question is that… is it right for Cab drivers to reject fairs on the basis of religion?..You are in a job that is suppose to provide public service, your religious obligations is forcing other peoples to change there way of life that have nothing to do with your religion. Why is that they should compromise, and not YOU? (refering to the Caby ofcourse)

to even associate with stuff like alcohol, ie helping someone transport it knowingly is kinda wrong....so yeah i agree it's the cabbies business 2 do wat he wishes!

I belive the cab drivers do have certain rights in that they may refuse to transport drunks especially due to high crime rates... However if it involved racial discrimination that is wrong..... the dog thing...its not just religious..the problem is the dogs leave an odor..and other cab users don't want to smell that...so its also a business thing....

1- BO is not salan smell #2- week old mixd salan aroma, mixed with crotch sweat and cheap perfume does not send anyone to an ethnic restaurant, as far as I can tell. But things may be different in Canada.
There is a fine line between right to refuse service and prejudice. Really, what if cabbies stop taking desis for oen reason or another, what kind of hoopla would we see then.
