Bye folks

Because of certain events, I find it difficult to continue as a moderator or member of this place.

I have to say my thanks to all of you members here. I learned a lot from you all.

In my few days here, I tried my best to be totally objective (though admittedly biased). If I didn’t do my job well, I am deeply and truly sorry. If I did it well, account it to my luck.

Take care and I love ya all … (ok, not all, but most of you  )

Asslam-o-Alaikum

PS: My thanks to the administration of this website. They always supported me 100%.

Deepblue,
Peace and God Bless!

deepBLUE, why leaving bro? is it something from my side or your chaheetee admin is harassing you.

well deepBLUE who ever you are, you stayed here for a very short time and we enjoyed your company. I find you the most moderately moderated, moderator. Need a second opinion?? you are decent too. :)

Despite of our clashing faiths, you accepted us as we are. I really appreciate that.

You are leaving as a moderator but please do join us as a member so that we can talk outside of the limitations you have as a moderator. Please? .. Aside, I still owe you a reply regarding “Naksh and mansookh” theory. I will prepare a reply for it, if you are leaving for good than drop by sometime and take a look at it.

I apologize for any wrong I have done. Take care and may Allah be your Hafiz.

wa’salam,

deepblue,
u were a really good moderator. We'll miss U.
Queer.

Dear Deepblue,

I hope it doesn't mean that you wont be coming here as a member. I have never been in a position like that of a moderator, but I can imagine how tough it must be (seeing how you were "punched" from all directions). I hope it was a learning experience for you. I have two little kids and I often have to act as a moderator to resolve tiny issues, I even find that challenging. I can imagine how nasty an experience you must have had moderating 10s of "grownup kids" at a time. We all appreciate your efforts.

Hope to see you around (as a member). Although rarely in agreement, I did enjoy listening to your views.

Best wishes

P.S. If you ever want to convert into Ahmadiyat, let me know, I know a good Ahmadi Mulla…

Br. Salam Masnoon

May Allah reward you for your efforts that you have put in this forum. Hopefully you will add valuable posting here time by time.

Vassalam

Deepblue,

I am shocked at your decision. What are these "certain events" that have led to this decision? Even if you do not feel that you can continue as a moderator surely you can continue to contribute as a member? This is one of the few Forums where it is possible to discuss Religion openly and honestly. We are sure going to miss having you around with your knowledge and insight.

We'll have to see where it goes from here but I am concerned to say the least. Good luck in the future anyway if you are certain you are not coming back.

Mr Xtreme

It wasn't my intention to post any more, but it seems to me that there is a misunderstanding among some people here. I'd like to clear that.

1- The administration team was, and still is, backing me up 100%. Yes, Zalim even my chaheetee admin :)

2- In all honesty, I was having a good time here, and I didn't mind the 'punches' at all.

That said, my decision to leave is based on events in other forums. In this forum, I didn't close a single thread, and I pretty much let go of most things on free run. I made an exception and rarely intervened in anything as a moderator. Despite that, this forum remained a good place to debate and argue.

I was acting slightly out of line of Gupshup policies in general, but the administration team allowed me that leeway and I can't thank them enough. At the same time, few events in other forums went against the principles (some of which I wrote above) I hold very dear. To remove myself from this duty was a no-brainer. I couldn't sit happy in this forum, thinking it's not my problem, when it was. However, to stop posting as a member was a tough decision, since in a month or two, I had grown to like you all and the debates here. Unfortunately, considering the manner in which few of the policies were being implemented, I didn't feel like being a part of Gupshup's readership.

In short, I have no arguments with anyone. It's just a matter of principle about the implementation of few things. Despite the disagreement, the major thing is that we all want to see these forums as perfect places for reading different perspectives and arguments. It's only in the implementation that we differ and it's no big deal.

The administration team is really great and gives moderators plenty of room to handle things their own way. The future moderator of this place 'll know that soon him/herself.

My thanks to all of you who wished me well here and those who emailed me.

May Allah bless us all and show us the right path. Ameen.

Asslam-o-Alaikum

confused faces looking at each other...

it surely was fast.
and strange....

Zalim,

What's with all the "X"alim business? Has my nick seeped into your guilty conscience? Let me know and I will change it if it helps you recover your sense of identity.
