Buying loads of what you don't need

I’m currently on an ‘earring phase’. I buy earrings ..loads and loads. Half i don’t wear. I have this one favourite pair which i’ve worn with about 10 different outfits. The rest are just sort of chucked in a box at the back of the wardrobe. My ‘evening handbag’ phase landed with me around 15 bags of every colour to match every outfit yet the only one i ever i used was the black..always felt over the top doing blue with blue and mint with mint. I curbed my ‘belt’ phase before it went horribly wrong. I NEVER wear belts yet i’ve managed to end up with some but not loads thankfully. I know i’m not the only guilty one…i bet you all do it, don’t you? How do you resist the urge to buy things that seem such a necessity when you see them in the shop yet are an absolute load of bollox when you get home :bummer:

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

I do the same, I have over 30 handbags and 40 shoes. That are currently in use :bummer:

Dont get me started on earings. I love them

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

i love buying things, the world makes much more sense with a new pair of shoes...but i have no money :(

my current obsession is skirts...iv brought loads in the past month. I have a new obsession every week though, handbags, hair products, braclets, flip flops...but i always always wear all my things, never wear the same pair of shoes 2 days in a row.

Just stop going shopping, i have...iv had too :(

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

God Bless you friend,

I am also in 'semi-earning phase', but could hardly manage to go to sotore to buy even my toothpaste......

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

Amongst other things i tend to get a lot of sunglasses.

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

I seem to hoard watches lately.

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

i'm always surprised to see ppl narrating this type of things ......you all must be filthy rich :p

honestly....i own 2 pairs of shoes .....n one handbag.....n i don't think i'm missing something ....
for me , if anything ever falls in category of buying loads....its outfits for my kids ....n that too doesn't fit into 'what i don't need'

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

i have a very big stomach, believe me

whenever i go to the markets i eat eat n eat, n my family is like this :O:

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

im the queen of buying things i dont need...

i have like over 50 pairs of shoes.. some boxed, some not, some i dont know where they are..

i went through a jackets phase too, no.. im always going through that.. i have like 10 different styles of jackets..

i have like over 20 bags.. some ive hidden incase mum discovers them..

my problem is, i cant part with old stuff. I keep buying new things allll the time but cant throw away the old stuff.. emotional attachment stuff ya know.. mum's always lecturing me "cheezon ki koi ahmiyat nahin hothi.. insaanon ki qadar karna seekho bewaqoof larki.."

i went thru a hair products phase.. and oils..

id still be going thru all these junooni harkatein.. if only i had money and wasnt being married in a few months... khair, ive been allowed to buy 3 new shoes :D sooo exciting

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

Since college, I’ve gone thru such a clothing/jewelry phase. When i was in high school the bulk of my money went to books and CDs and other “educamacational” stuff. But since i started college, it’s always been a new item of clothing every other week. Maybe coz I wore a uniform in HS so clothing wasn’t much of an issue, and my taste keeps changing from day to day. :halo:

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

I hear u! Never gone thru such a phase – I own about five or six pairs of shoes, 2 of which i regularly wear (Kolhapoori chappal, a must). I’ve used and re used my college bookbag for three years now (freinds threw it out earlier this year even in its mint condition!) Got a new one similar to the old one :).

Clothes, yes, Shalvar kameez I buy/make time to time but not on a regular basis.

saddzzz – 50!!! damn. How do u remember each to go with a certain outfit? Oh wait, just read ur post over again…u dont

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

^ i know :bummer: im so embarrassed… and my new place doesnt have enuff room for all my shoes… and mum refuses to keep them for me sigh

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

well i wont even go to the buying clothes stuff… i have too many,

i,ll share something else… every time i go to the supermarket, i get 3 4 cans of flavoured tuna along with other stuff, even if i dont need it. Guess its that habit from the days when i used to go to gym like crazy and have tuna sandwiches etc. Old habits die young… result… i have like 50 60 cans of tuna lying in the kitchen cupboard. :bummer:

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

JacketS!!!! I can never have enough! I love jackets (especially DKNY jeans) and I wear them too.

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

haha me too! when I left my parents place, I left most of my belonging behind, ammi is still keeping them incase I want them again :D but I get tired of old things and allways allways want new ithems, just went through handbag and shoes phase, I am almost buying some things for me, even if I dont have enough money but I justifiy myself that I really need it. Some habbits never change.

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

you all must be rich.. because you don't buy anything which you WANT, you should just try to fulfill your NEEDS. :D

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need

Anything that smells great! Fragrances....be it be perfumes, candles, pot pourie, incenses, bath beans, bubble bath...etc...etc. or stuff from Hallmark/carlton specialty stores. Although I can't help it buying books for self or stationary and other toddler related items for my lil un these days. Its so much fun!

But in the last 4 yrs I've cut myself a pact and practicing self-restraint on anything I see in the mall and fight an enormous battle with myself to resist the urge(been doing damn good I'd say). Although recently its been glasses and houseware items but not that I've crossed the limits to be declared a shopaholic yet.

Re: Buying loads of what you don’t need

Ok n i thought i was bad. You lot are so much worse

Esp u sadzzz madam…50 pairs of shoes… :nono:

Re: Buying loads of what you don't need
