Buying gifts for your spouse

Say your spouse works and you don’t.

When it comes to events like birthdays/anniversaries etc, how do you do the gift giving? Naturally the working spouse will give you something but the one who isn’t working, how do you buy your spouse a gift? Cz whatever funds you have are naturally from the working spouse, so in a way they’re buying their own gifts…

I’m definitely not mocking it or making fun of it, but it really does sound kinda funny in theory =D

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

^Lol I've thought the same.

Hmm....cook him his favorite meals. It's his money that bought the food, it's YOU that puts the effort into making it.

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

Who says buy a gift. There is one gift that requires no money. :D

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

Well save some money ( from your pocket money ) over the year to finance his gift :)

Pocket money becomes your money so technically you arent buying him gifts from his own money !

is that too much of asking :@:

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

it aint a gift - it is our right :)

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

It's the thought that counts, not money........and not who earned money.

The spouse who does not work still indirectly earns money by the way.

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

When we were first married I was finishing University and my husband was the only one working. So for his Birthday or other special occasions I use to make him a special dinner and just spend some quality time with him.

Also we had a montly budget for household expenses and anything that was left over at the end of the month was mine so I did become thrifty near his birthday.

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

Well i have fixed a Monthly Pocket Money for My Wife ...

So she can buy gift's for me :D

and buy item which i deny to buy for her !!!

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

Ladies should consider buying more practical gifts in that case. Like a french maid outfit, a gift when she puts it on in the bedroom, practical when she puts it on in the kitchen. Efficient utilization of resources.

Re: Buying gifts for your spouse

I think the thought counts. make him dinner, bake a cake, go out for some outing, cafe for tea/coffee etc.

My sis buys gift for hubby from pocket money she receives every month.

Knit him a sweater if you know how to knit

My mother has knitted lots of sweater and woolen stylish caps for my father. he still wears them all :).
