I want to know where do you all buy DVDs or Vcds that are of good quality in USA?
As some of you mentioned earlier, quality of these from Pakistan / India is bad.

any desi store would be your best bet. If you live in the NY/NJ metro area..Jackson Heights, some places on Lexington Ave. in the City..Edison in N. Jersey..

i say pakistan is the best place...just check the dvd before you buy it..vcds suck
there is a desi store here...he has 3 movies in one dvd...quality is pretty good too..i just got two of those...one has DDLJ, dil to pagal hai, and kuch kuch hota hai..he bought it for $10 for those from wholesale

Sheeraz has it figured out pretty well. If u have someone in Karachi, get them to get DVD Court recorded movies for you (check them first but they are near perfect in terms of picture quality and sound reproduction) :k:
Get a dvd for about Rs. 100. Now beat that :rotato:

Pakistan sure is the best place.. you can get best quality DVD for only Rs 150. My cousin came here and took some 50-odd dvds to states..

When you say 'best quality' do you mean the build-quality of the DVD or the print quality of the movie therein?
If its the build quality of DVD, then I have no comments (not a techie), but if it means that the prints offered on these DVD's is "best quality", then its a hit-and-miss thing. Some are good. Some are not so good. And some are down right crappy (as bad as VCD's). It depends.
I think Pakistani songs are decent quality. I assume some Indian movies are also print-wise decent, though their indexing (chapter breakup) leaves a lot to be desired. English movies for the most part, should be avoided. You may very well ruin the whole movie by watching it on crappy quality, and in worst case the DVD may refuse to play the final few chapters and prolonging your torture. :)
oh the vcds are the worst..they stop working and get so many problems..i would only recommend dvds..those are good..and i agree with khanu..dvds in karachi are around Rs. 100..rainbow centre, sadar, karachi :k:

when i say 'Best Quality' I mean the DVD build quality. NOT the print quality. Yes there are some print qualities too but there ARE obviuos differences between them so i first check the print out only then i proceed to buy em. Vcds are a big no-no.
