I was planning to buy Toyota Celica 2001…Toyota would not be producing Celica in Usa after 2005.. What role is that going to play in the resale value of existing Celicas?? Is it a good idea to still go ahead with Celica??
Also, what other cars are similar to Celica (under 10 grand)? Any from BMW?
well, if u r looking at its resale value than it is definitely a bad buy for u…but if u want to drive it urself for long time (5-7 yrs), then u must go ahead with this deal…i dont know abt the price, but celica for sure is a nice car to have…
under 10 grand, u will also be able to scoop a mustang or corvette…and dont count on BMW for this price…they have set some high standards for them…a 2001 845i will cost u around 20 G’s…
and yeah i forgot, have a look at the new Nissan Z…check out 350Z at Nissan 350Z …u can get this brand new car for less than 25 G’s…
yeah celica is a great car..not very expensive for a sporty car..the only drawback about celcia is its safety features: doesn't rank very high when it comes to safety but i think i can live with that :-D
7 years is a veryy long time...i will see if i can use this factor (no celica after 2005)in negotiating the price with the dealer. :-D
25 g is wayyy over my budget!! :-D besides i think i have got my mind set on celica. :-)
Toyotas hold their resale value. The base Celica is a weak car. Even the GT-S makes only 180 hp and that's with a 6 speed. Not much torque down low until you spin it over 6k.
The picture you posted is a very modified one with carbon fiber bits and lambo doors. I'm guessing a good $30000 in parts.
If you want it to drive around, then get it. If it's for track or drags, I'd suggest a WRX (Sti if you can afford it) or EVO would be a far better pick. Even the Dodge SRT-4 is a killer deal.
I was in the car scene for a while. I hope I was of help. Later dude. :)
Yes I read about it and you should def. make the smart move and sell your celica... no offence but it's a bit of a girly car. Eclipse and spyder too. They are like booked for girls. If you go to a race show...i've been to many and I still go to some. (Freehold Raceway) Funkmaster flex, snoop dog, etc... bring their cars over there. They have girls standing in corners with either spyders, ecplice or celicas.
10 g's for a bmw???? no way... yes u can find an old one of course...even 5g's fine. They'll be fine with high mileage but beamers tend to give a lot of trouble after a while. If you want something worth every penny then get a honda or lexus.
Go ask your local mechanic and see what he says too :)
my uncle runs a huge car dealership in pennsylvania, i know quite a bit
if u see a girl with a celcia its not celica its the girl whom u need to think about.
i can understand where you are coming from. i have seen both guys and girls driving celicas…however, majority of the owners of celica are guys. log on to cardomain ..all most all of the celica owners you will find are guys.
celica cannot be classified as a ‘chick car’. they can take off too. a lot of guys want a car for gas efficiency, looks, and a smooth ride…celica has them all. you will find that beetle is also driven by manly men. so there’s no way that one can generalize that a car is a girl car or a manly car…how about toyota echo..dodge neon..mini cooper?? they are driven both by men and women. a lot of girls drive pick up trucks and street racing vehicles and a lot of guys drive compact cars that are good on gas…it just depends on taste…so BEEP
soo coming back to the issue..approx. how much can a dealer reduce the price of a celica 2001 since it won’t be produced after 2005?
Geez man. Would our opinion change ur decision on whether or not you going to buy that car? Just go and buy it if you like that car. Your the one who is going to drive it ....not us.

mr2 will also go out of production after 2005 along with celica. besides, i really don't like the front of mr2 ... it somewhat reminds me of
porsche :-) also, its a 2 seater.
only the JDM celica is a nice machine to have - otherwise - get in the Honda bandwagon - get a CRX and put a JDM B18C5 (Integra Type R)motor in that - (that'll be one damn fast ride). The amazing rush of VTEC at 7 grands of tach makes you addicted.
Otherwise - get hold of a MR2 and put a JDM 1.6 l 4AGE 20 valve motor in there - same effect as the CRX - but with better traction
well, i ended up getting a scion tC...i have put about 3000 miles on it and haven't had any problems so far...i love my tC :D i will see if i can post some pics later..
Has any one seen the new Scion by Toyota? I was going to get that at first but then they told me I have to wait 4-6 months because they didnt have the color I wanted.
