Buying/Copying Notes

So this straight-A student, who managed to get As in every single subject in his Leaving Cert this year ( :hayaa: ) is now selling his hand-written notes on ebay for €40 per subject.

Do you consider this cheating, just like copying notes off someone else?

Or do you look at it from a different angle i.e. its just like buying a book?

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

No, it's not cheating. It's de riguer in law school. You buy the case notes of the students from the year before. It doesn't save you from reading the material, but it gives you some guidance along the way. Also, when you go into the lectures, you add your own comments to the notes, making it your own. Ultimately, you do your own studying and write the exam without anyone else's assistance.

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

It's not cheating BBQ, it's called saving yourself from becoming a "kitabi-keera".

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

My cousin gave me all his AP notes. Am I a cheater? =( =(

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

now only if they can sell answer sheets :hinna:

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

i'm not saying those who get notes from others are cheaters... I just wanted to get ur views on this... my youngest sister is enrolled in the same course as I was and I have given her most of my notes ... it saved her from doing a lot of research from the internet/library etc... but she still has to do her own work and, like Sehrysh said, the notes are just for guidance....

But then, if I had this kinda guidance during my undergrad, I would've obtained a lot better results, ya'know?

Re: Buying/Copying Notes

Perhaps he is doing what he learned from his straight As.
