-i never made a purchase through ebay
-i saw good deals for digital camera and i would like to buy one. but iam worried that it should not give problems later
-is it safe to buy electronic stuff from ebay?

Yes, it's quite safe. Make sure to check the feedback rating of the person you are buying from.

I've purchased electronics from ebay and I think it's safe but as Fret said, be sure to check the ratings. You can get a refund too especially if the item is has a defect that wasn't mentioned in the description.

humm.....one more question what do they mean by starting bid of $0.01 and for how much should we bid for if no body else has bid it yet...........................

That obviously means you can bid the item for as low as $0.01 but I doubt you can buy anything for a few cents. If something hasn't been bidded on then that usually means the auction has just started. When you're looking at something, let's say a camera, check the Time left before the item is gone. It will say "2d 4h 15m" means 2 days 4 hours and 15 mins left until the auction will go off. If there's not so much time left, like say 30 mins left then bid for the lowest price. I always bid for stuff right before the auction goes off to make sure that I'll win it.

Keep one more imp thing in mind. Don't bid for an item if you don't know how much its worth. First search the net and find out its reasonable price and then try to get it for a price lower than that!

search for the item in e-bay to get a short list.. then click on Completed Auctions on the left margin to get a listing of the items which have already soldl and sort them by price to get an idea of what the item usually sells for on e-bay.. pay something close to the minimum and u're sure to have found a good deal..

I'd suggest if you're an e-bay novice that you buy your camera from a regular e-tailer or a shop like Best Buy..
