I bought a samsung ativ 9 for my dad, but beware that due to software BIOS blocks, you can’t install Win7 on win8 machines.

Do any computer geeks have a solution for that? I have Win7 ultimate but my bootable disk just wouldn’t boot at startup to install 7.

It should be the new Secure Boot with a new UEFI firmwares, disable that or make a UEFI compatible USB windows 7 boot disk to install windows 7 on it, but why you want to install Windows 7? Windows 8 is just an optimized windows 7 with that fancy start screen, install a classic start menu and boot directly in to the desktop, you have your windows 7, but better optimized.
