Re: Buying a home..
varies greatly from area to area. Yoy can go to realtor.com and try looking for places. I can ask some of my pals in san fran about it. btw our missing in action pal Faisal lives in san HO-say he can tell you more also.
Re: Buying a home..
Property in CA is very expensive I have no clue about rental properties in SF but I had short IT project in LA and we (me and buddy of mine) rented an apartment/loft of one bed room in South Bay Area in 1999-2000 and it was around $1300 but it was very good.
California is too expensive that is reason to own a house there is a very big deal.

Re: Buying a home..
dude, really go check out realtor.com
look up cities u are interetsed in and put in number of rooms, whethee u want a pool, how many car garage, etc etc and it will show you what is in your budget in that area.
Re: Buying a home..
see an agent.. not all properties are listed online.. choose a neighborhood and do a driveby .. ask around.. friends and their friends.. they may lead u to someone who's 'thinking' of selling etc etc
Re: Buying a home..
dayuuuuuum....i browsed that website you mentioned fraudz, $800,000 doesn't buy me much.
Re: Buying a home..
Where in CA?
Re: Buying a home..
I got my first house few years back and i have now just bought my 2nd house which i have given on rent.
I started off with a Credit Card from my own bank and also as i shop online from Mail Order Catalogues (e.g. Next) i always ensured i paid on time which helped my credit rating.
Hope you get on ok.
Re: Buying a home..
dude depends on the area, it will vary greatly. even in the bay area. look up a bay area map and start checking specific locales. I mean u can probably find a mansion for 750K in oakland..not that u wanna live there
Re: Buying a home..
lolzz..sounds like my story:halo: ..i am in the same boat as you are and my dad always pressurizing me to get a credit card just to build up a good credit history…what he has suggested is to get a secured credit card. since, i know it is ridiculous but to get a credit card, you have to show the banks and financial institutions the credit card balance ( that is howit works in Toronto, i am not sure about U.S)… And just do your usual shopping by credit card instead of debit..and then just pay off the amount at the end of the month…
i have been lazy bone till yet but i will get my back off one of these days and get myself a secured credit card..hope everything goes smoothly afterwards INSHALLAH!
Wish you the same.
