what things to look out for? Anyone ever owned a benz before would like to talk about your experience?
I am thinking about trading my g35 for a BLACK
2003 S500
or
2003 CLK 430
I only like those two because of my budget…what do u think about em?

You are asking about two entirely different vehicles here.
They don't compare.
But from what I know of you....get the CLK. Enjoy it.
Then a few years from now graduate to the S500.

lately mercs reliability has been pretty poor so buying almost a 4 year old model is a little iffy, unless you want to deal with maintenance costs.
I know others who have gone and bought 7 year old 7 series or a8s and are crying about repair costs now.
go for a newer model merc so u have the warranty protection and will only have t deal with a couple of years max of out of warranty costs until u trade for a diff car

The costs are not much hight if he is planing to buy it.. he knows what he is buying...!! repair cost I knoe but its I think now a days equal to all luxry cars..!!

I wouldnt buy a benz withouth a factory warranty…da ones i am looking at has to be under 100k milage wise and has to have bumper to bumper factory warranty

Looks like you have done some research already about the S class. 2003 is probably their best production year because they had all the major bugs worked out from previous years. The 2000-2002 had several bugs including the infamous airmatic failure which usually happens after 50k miles. The '04 was their first year with 7 speed tranny, but that had bugs/issues with shifting from gear 2-3.
Or you might be just going with 2003 because it got a facelift and improved interior :~) Whatever the reason, it’s a good choice.
I would recommend getting an extended 3 year warranty which is ~$1500 that would cover everything.
S class is in a league of its own and has a ride which doesn’t compare to any other models in terms of luxuriousness and ride quality. CLK is for those who can’t affort a real benz + it looks ugly.
I’d say go for 2003 S…you will be VERY happy with it and won’t regret it :k:

I second the S500 for comfort and lots of room. But as Muzna said they are 2 different beasts. If you are single and don't need so much room go for the CLK and pimp it a little.
Diffinitely have extended warrant and as Pir Sahib said lots of ppl are crying cuz of the maintenence costs.

to me cost is avg price per issue multiplied by number of issues. and merc has been having some pretty bad reliability issues over the last few years. maybe chrysler rubbed off on them too much.
