Buyers beware!

Hi everyone,
just wanted to share something that happened while wedding shopping online. A lot of us do and therefore I thought maybe I can help prevent someone else from being conned.

I saw this image online of a dress replica of Elan. The image was now im assuming the original dress possibly purchased by someone. This person on Facebook had their watermark across it. and the original with model from the elan fb side by side. (Making it look like they had make a copy of the original)

I messaged them asking is that your work with the watermark and how it bears amazing resemblance to the original and it was a brilliant replica. I get a message back giving me pricing detail and when i asked for pictures of dupatta etc she said i have none. She just kept giving me additional details for the sale. Its only when my cousin pointed it out that I realized she did not acknowledge that the dress was made by her, but kept pushing the sale.

Again, im not saying she ever said that the dress was made by her. but when i repeatedly admired her work and asked her if the picture was her work she ignored it. Needless to say I did not purchase the dress but I did want to share this with you guppies … A LIE OF OMISSION TO SELL IS STILL A LIE SO BUYER BEWARE.

I dont wish to do any mudslinging but I felt it important to share especially for those of us who live abroad and shopping online seems to be the only option, we have to be careful!

Re: Buyers beware!

Would be helpful if you could share the seller's name and fb link too :)

Re: Buyers beware!

Hi princessnadia87,
The picture was an elan shirt, the person I contacted was Rahat’s Outfit --heres the link with their watermark on the picture Facebook

and when i googled the image another person who had done the same:
Sareen’s wear
Google Image Result for https://fbcdn-photos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xat1/v/t1.0-0/s526x395/12074768_1186774354670250_7143782969969373508_n.jpg?oh=230c6e34d3f57d254194b6e03404761e&oe=56CACCAB&gda=1455788544_c4495adabba733c86721be539eae36d8

The person from Rahats has 3 different fb pages: Rahat’s outfits, Designer collection by Rahat and Rahat’s collection. Im certain they have their own work too and they might even be good people designing good clothes its just by such false advertisements its hard for customers to distinguish their work and its misleading if you ask me.
I believe simple etiquette dictates :
a. dont watermark someone elses images
b. especially on fb About section place a disclaimer that clarifies that you are posting pictures from other designers to create replicas and only the pictures watermarked are your handiwork.

If people just did that I believe they would get more business for clarity and honesty, hai na?
