any good and easy recipes out there?
i have come across a few tried one and it turned out a total mess hence looking for a tried and tested recipe of butter chicken.

I use shaan's recipe and add Qashqa cream to it , in addition to butter , it never fails.

What Mirch said or if you have any really good tikka boti masala recipe then just marinate the chicken in the masala and grill it. Heat up some butter add onions, saute until tender then add chicken. After a bit, add a can of tomatoes and tomato sauce (can make your own puree of tomatoes too instead of using a can). Heat some more and at the end add some cream. So simple and tasty!!

What is qashqA cream? Is it same thing as heavy cream?

Yes it is heavy cream.
There are tons of recipe on the net and many are good. Marinate chicken in lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, salt. Deep fry. KEEP ASIDE. Then for gravy fry 1 onion,add 2 tbsp tandoori masala, salt, red pepper, bhoonify, tomatoe purée, bhoonify, add, 8 oz sour cream, bhoonify. Add chicken and then add heavy cream, cook for 5 minutes, then add 1 stick butter,
MOST IMP STEP Is to make sure that the oil separates from gravy then your butter chicken is ready. I have seen in so many restaurants and catered p food that they do not cook enough to achieve this. Many places just dump heavy cream and butter and cook for a minute and call that butter
Chicken.

yeah i also use shan butter chicken mix it turns out very good :)
