What is the difference b/w these two dishes? They both taste very similar.
Does anyone have any recipes for chicken/paneer tikka masala?..i ate paneer tikka masala today for lunch and it was sooooo good!!!

Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
a lot of difference
chicken tikka masalah is made by the meat prepared from chicken tikka.. it tastes different too.. although some restaurant interchange the name so people find them same but trust me these are two different dishes :D
Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
two different things.
Chicken tikka is the grilled/baked chicken and butter chicken you actually add butter and heavy cream for the gravy. Chicken tikka has no gravy.
Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
Chicken tikka masala does have a gravy - its allot thicker.
The base for the makhani is butter and heavy cream with some tomatoes.
The base for the tikka masala are tomatoes that are cooked longer for a thicker sauce and this dish has onions and stuff in it whereas the makhani there are no onion, ginfer or garlic.
Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
I believe you are thinking of chicken tikaa......but chicken tikka masala has gravy.
Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
thanks guys....
so for the chicken tikka masala you prepare the chicken as if you are making chicken tikka (ie grill/bake) then add it to the masala...whereas the chicken in the butter chicken is not grilled/baked?
do any of you have a good recipe for chicken tikka masala?
Re: Butter Chicken vs Chicken Tikka Masala?
