Butter Chicken... recipe anyone???

So, one of my colleagues (a local) ate butter chicken in some pakistani restaurant and fall in luv with that. She says its different from Indian butter chicken (chicken makhani), the least of what she is aware of. She knows I’m from Pakistan so she’d been asking and reminding me to get the recipe for it.
So is pakistani one different from indian chicken makhani? Does anyone have a recipe for it plz?

Ing:

Chicken 1 kg (boneless n cut in cubes)
Yogurt 1/2 cup
Cream 1/4 cup
Green cardimon 6
Cinamon sticks 2
Cloves 6
Taiz pata 2
Butter 2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
corn flour 1/4 tsp dissolve in 1/2 cup water
Grounded almond 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Hara dhania as req

Method:

  • aik bowl main dahi lain then add 1 tsp salt or as per ur taste ,thora sa hara dhania , ginger garlic paste mix well and marinate chicken in this for overnight. -aik oven proof dish ko grease karlain with oil aur chicken pieces thorey distance sey usmain set karlain...aur preheated oven main 180 C or 350 F or gas mark 4 pe 30-35 min k lien bake karlain aur u can check k color golden brown hojaye. -abb aik pan main butter garm karen usmain tamam whole garm masala dalien then add bacha hua marinade dal kar itna bhona hai k dahi ka pani khush hojaye then add baked chicken pieces ,grounded almonds aur corn flour dissolve in water.
  • jab bubbles baney lagen to add cream and simmer for 3 min.

300gm Boneless Chicken
2 tbsp Butter
1/2 Cup Tomato Paste
1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Zeera Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 Cup Fresh Cream
2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2-3 tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
Hara Dhania for garnish

Method:

Oil mai adhrak lehsan ka paste dal kar milain phir chicken dal dain wo bhi dal k thora mix kar k us mai tomato paste dal dain .. thora bhoon kar laal mirch, namak, zeera aur garam masala powder dal k itna bhoonna hai k dry ho jae .. phir butter dal dain melt ho to mila kar cream dal dain phir itna bhoonain k oil chor day .. oper hara dhania chirak dain tayyar hai.

Whole Chicken Pecies......1kg
Tomatoes........250gms....1 pao (tomatoes i skin per cross main stating side per cut laga kar boil kar kay blender main paste bana lain)
yogurt.........1cup....250gms

marination:-

*chicken ko salt 1=1/ tsp,ginger +garlic paste 2Tbsp,pissa garam masal 1tsp,pissa dry dihnia 1+1/2tsp,pissa white zeera 1tsp,butter 2tbs,lemon juice 1 tbsp,yellow food color 1/4tsp dal kar mix kar kay for best result over night marinate honay keey leey rahk dain.
*jab cook karny lagain then yogurt ko whisk kar kay chicken main mix kar dain. abb pot main dal dain aur aak medium onion chop kar kay sath hi dalk kar mix karain achi thara n cover.
tender ho jay tu achi thar kuch time bhoon lain.

butter sauce:-
*
fry pan mai 4tbspp butter dal kar tomatoes puree dal dain sath hi salt 1/2tsp,lal mirch 1,1/2 tsp,pissa dhnia 1tsp,pissa garam masal 1/2tsp,white zeera,1/2 tsp dal kar mix kar lain ,sauce thick hojay tu 4tbsp cream dal dai n slightly mix kar then 1 green chilli b cut kar kay dal dain.

assembling:-

dish out chicken in servin dish n pour the butter sauce over the chicken. serve with zafiran rice /simple rice or sheer mall!!!

ingredient:

chicken 1/2 kg
onions 2
yogurt 250 grams
white butter 3 tbsp
garlic/ginger paste 1 tsp
black pepper powder 1 tsp
cinnaman 1 stick
salt to taste
green coriander leaves for garnishing

methed:

*heat oil in a pot.finely slice onions and fry them in oil.
*allow onions to cool, blend them in a blender along with yogurt.
*heat white butter in a pot, when the butter melt, add garlic/ginger paste and fry till golden .add chicken pieces,
*when the chicken pieces trun white , add black pepper, cinnaman,yogurt mixture and salt .cover with a lid.
*when masala comes to a boil, lower the flame and cok till the chicken become tender and butter appears on the surface.
*garnish with coriander leaves and serve

1/4 pint/150ml natural yogurt
2 ounces/50g ground almonds
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp crushed bay leaves
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp garam masala
4 green cardamom pods
1 tsp ginger pulp
1 tsp garlic pulp
14 ounce/400g can tomatoes
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 pounds/1kg chicken, skinned, boned and cubed
3 ounces/75g butter
1 tbsp corn oil
2 medium onions, sliced
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
4 tbsp cream

How to make butter chicken :
Place the yogurt, ground almonds, all the dry spices, ginger, garlic, tomatoes and salt in a mixing bowl and blend together thoroughly.
Put the chicken into a large mixing bowl and pour over the yogurt mixture.
Set aside. Melt together the butter and oil in a medium karahi, wok or frying pan. Add the onions and fry for about 3 minutes. Add the chicken mixture and stir-fry for about 7 to 10 minutes.
Stir in about half of the coriander and mix well. Pour over the cream and stir in well. Bring to the boil. Garnish the indian butter chicken with the remaining chopped coriander to serve the chicken curry.

I make butter chicken using shaan masala and I put extra amount of creme in it though , which is loved by family and friends.

which cream do you guys use? in canada you can't get that thick dairy cream the only thing i can find in the store is half and half cream or the whipping cream??

I also tried Shan's butter chicken yesterday and it turned out great! and its super easy!!

I use whipping cream, and then let the butter chicken simmer for about half an hour. It really thickens it up.
