Gul Nokhez Akhtar is a very known writter and a member of urdustan ... I have interacted with him during the publication of one of his novels on urdustan...
A very fine writer...
He had this mazmoon "Naam maiN kiyaa hai" and he made fun of paThaan's names like dariya khan, samander khan etc.. so he suggested any paThan who was born at the lunch time should be named dastar khan

Reminds me of a friend... Ans Butt... under influence from Punjabi language, he would insist on spelling his name as "Anus butt". It was all well till he moved to UK. Almost every gora who would ever ask him to spell his name to fill forms etc, first gave a confused look, then thought of it as a joke and often asked again, "So, what's your name?".
About Pathan names... someone said that a pathan born in a bus is named "New Khan".
