Just heard on Radio that the judge is not very happy with Amir's confession as he said he was put under a lot of pressure and therefore bowled the no balls in the Lords test while the evidence presented in court points otherwise. His lawyers have now submitted an 18 page report which the judge is reading and than sentencing will take place later this afternoon. The radio report also said something which does not look very good for Butt. The judge in one of his remarks said that all this was not possible without the captain's involvement.

many of us use to ridicule Rashid Latif when he claimed (a few years back) that there is a thing such as spot fixing which is harder notice :(

Pete Rose bet on baseball while he managed his team and also as a player. He was not sent to jail for these crimes (he went to jail on tax evasion). There were scandals earlier (Chicago Black Sox) that also did not result in jail terms to folks who fixed games (to the best o fmy knowledge).
We forget cricket is just a game. No murder has been committed. Something about casting the first stone. Hope some mercy and leniency is shown. Claw back all the money these players earned. Fine them heavily on top of that. And make them dedicate a percentage of all future earnings to Pakistan cricket. Win-win for everyone.

Yes cricket is just a game and should be played as a game not a source to satta baazi. They betrayed their colleagues, they betrayed their cricket board they betrayed their supporters and most of all the nation which game the chance and glory they betrayed the same nation. Not once did they think of the consequences or what they were doing was wrong or that they were betraying their nation. They had only one thing in mind and that was to make as much money as possible for themselves. greed took over. Nope, I dont have any sympathy for them, they betrayed the trust I had in them, they betrayed the support I gave them. Let them rot in jail. Regardless of what decision the judge reaches today they should never ever be allowed to play for the country again.

Majeed said that one other player is involved, that players themselves came to him and that Salman was jealous of other players who were richer than him.

Rashid was the initial whistle blower. No one ever took him seriously and this spot fixing claim was laughed away. Good memory Zero_one.
