As suspected and predicted Pakistan has already reneged on its new found resolve to fight terrorists. One would think they can come up with a decent excuse but as lies go such stupidity is par for the course. They are delaying the appeal of the bail order issued for lakvi. Why? because the government prosecutor seriously claims he has not gotten a copy of the bail order…after several days!
The American resolve to ‘do something’ against guns was alive atleast for a couple of weeks in the public conscience but this Peshawar related outrage has lasted a record 4 days.
I am sure the Pakistani gov will keep terrorists accused off bail and prosecute them. They just need time.
You should check out the Lal Masjid protests and the way people have rejected the flimsy excuses of the cleric there. One of the main protests even got a threatening phone call. Check out the thread i made on it.
Justice goes slowly in subcontinent. We’re not America yet.
Listen to this guy. He is very inspiring and he mentions rights of all sections of Pakistani society of all sects and all religions
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
You seem to be an even bigger optimist than I am. Pakistan unfortunately is Pakistan. Things take time everywhere - I doubt if ANY process can be slower than in India.
Pakistan’s problem is one of unwillingness to change based on lack of courage. No leader of people, whether PPP, PTI or other has had the moral authority or political will to stand up against the religious military mafia. We have heard of military industrial complex but what rules Pakistan is the military religious mafia.
Case in point: it’s been a week. Has the court order copy of the bail reached the prosecutor? Has the bail been cancelled? has the appeal been even filed? I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear next year that they couldn’t possibly work over the pre-Christmas days, the Christmas week or the week of the New Year.
Meanwhile terrorists are out plotting the next massacre.

Well let's not jump to conclusions. Yes the slowness can be frustrating and change comes slowly but I am sure they are monitoring the situation. When the lej chief has been let off as another member said then it's too optimistic to expect this guy to get sudden treatment. There is definitely feeling of change if lal masjid protests are anything to go by. Let's let the Pakistani gov do their thing and give them time. Why interfere. The world's eyes are on them and I am sure they won't disappoint.
In the meantime 75 people have died in Assam which is more of an urgent issue. We can keep on talking about terrorists in far off places but what about internal security in india.maybe we can work on that in meantime.look at sydney seige although not perfect the police acted professionally and reduced number of casualties.
There are a lot of positive issues which can be made into threads here as well.
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
I think most indian/non indian/Pakistani humans/trolls/giants/midgets would join the bandwagon/rickshaw/train/bus against terrorists/terrorist suspects . It's the only logical thing to do.
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
Don't know If the curry comment was directed towards me but there is no curry frying when innocents are killed. Whether that be peshawar or Assam where women and children are killed. Both acts of terrorism. Most decent people from both countries will condemn it. I have a friend from peshawar and obviously I want her to safe and not have to live under the shadow of terrorism. Let's not
assume intentions of wide group of people based on exceptions.
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
If you have a fax machine than I would like to fax you the following points of the PM speech. Fax will reach impatient people like you quicker, or is it just pure trolls:
Implementation on way for the execution of convicts on death row.
Special Trial Courts will be constituted under army officers so that the terrorists may not spared owing to certain loopholes in legal system. The courts will function for two years.
No armed outfits or militias will be allowed in the country.
NACTA will be reactivated and strengthened.
Crackdown will be unleashed against literature promoting hatred, intolerance and extremism.
Financial assistance and funding of the terrorists will be wiped out.
Banned outfits will not be allowed to operate with any other name.
Anti-terrorism Force will be set up.
The protection of minorities will be ensured. And, religious extremism will be stemmed.
The religious seminaries will be registered and regularized.
Complete ban on publicity of terrorists and their ideology on print and electronic media.
The repatriation of the IDPs will be expedited with administrative and development reforms on the way in FATA.
Communication networks of terrorist organizations will be uprooted.
Actions are being undertaken to stop the promotion of terrorism on social media and internet.
Zero-tolerance policy for extremism across Pakistan.
Karachi operation will be taken to its logical end.
Balochistan government is being fully empowered by all stakeholders for broader political reconciliation.
Decisive action is being undertaken against the elements stoking sectarianism in the country.
With the registration of Afghan refugees, an exhaustive policy is being formulated for them.
Fundamental reforms are being expedited in criminal judicial system to allow more access of provincial intelligence agencies to the communication networks of terrorists and to further strengthen the anti-terrorism institutions.
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
I read that 20 points too...talks about catching terrorists. Good.
How does that jibe with releasing the terrorist who has been caught?
This is neither impatience nor curry frying - May sound like trolling because it comes from an Indian but I don't see any of you pointing out the difference between Pakistan's words and action. Koolaid
Re: Business as usual already in Pakistan establishment: urget need? a fax machine!
Dopieganjey - yes, I have learnt a lot from Southie already and now it is your turn ; if you wanted to say something about samjota express, say it, don’t be afraid.

Again in your trolling you might not have read or ignored it because it doesnt suit your trolling that the govt has appealed against his release.

I get it - calling to attention facts you don't like is trolling as far as you are concerned. Splendid my man, capital.
This from today: "Over a week after Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi granted bail to Lakhvi, the government on Friday got the copy of the bail order".
Anyway, congratulations, and hope the appeal does get actually filed, heard and decided upon pronto - because this terrorist has been free for a whole week already and there is a reason your government wants to appeal.

You are an idiot. He was never let out he was charged under the MPO again.

good - so he was detained. I take that part back. The original point was about the shenanigans tried, in this case not getting a copy of the bail order.
