Soon after coming to power, he openly indicated his total bias with Israel and put the whole middle east peace process into jeopardy, which induced some ill minded people to venture into 11th Sept incident which killed thousands of innocent people and resulted in Afghan war. Then on false pretext he went on to Iraq war contrary to the international opinion and this evaporated all the sympathies which Americans got from every corner of the world and made Americans the most hated people on this planet.
I was a staunch opponent of India’s nuclear bomb program and wanted that India must sign NPT. But after watching the Iraq war, I felt that India must continue its nuclear program so that it’s not black mailed or intimidated by Americans.
I am pretty sure, many peace loving people like me have changed their mind after watching the only super power disregarding the world opinion. Iraq complied almost every UN resolution and still it was attacked. Now this has taught a very hard lesson to many governments not to abide by such deceptive resolutions. Iraq operation has made it almost impossible for the international community to influence either Iran or N. Korea to abandon their weapon program. The third world war is not very far thanks to Bush and the American people who elected such a gentleman as their president.
worth mentioning is that Bush almost didnt become president the first time around. florida was a mess. before elections, muslims en masse campaigned for Bush, main reason being Al Gore had a jewish wife and was seen as potentially pro israel. even on gupshup, there were so many threads dissing Gore and cheering Bush. given the narrow margin of his "victory", wouldnt be too far from the truth to say american muslims helped Bush get to where he is today.
Maybe instead of blaming the jewish lobby for the American policies in the middle east, Arabs focused on reforming themselves and presenting their case in a proper and intelligent manner instead of rushing to the streets and chanting death to america and burning Israeli flags, the American congressmen and Senators would be much inclined to listen to these greviances.
I agree, US policies in the Middle East are highly tilted towards Israel and that is because Israel presents its case a lot better than Arabs do.
Instead of pledging to destroy Israel and kill Jews, perhaps the notion of living side by side with Israel in peace would show that Arabs are serious of peace with Israel. But when Hamas and other terrorists groups ally themselves with Iran who wants to destroy Israel and hates America too.

I don't know where shias came into all this but i never believed in all those conspiracy theories like 4000 jews not being present and all that but on the other everyone knows about Jewish lobby and their strength in America.
