Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

I can recall reading this in one of the western news magazines right after 911,.... bombing Pakistan back to the stone age was mentioned and also taking out all nuclear sites was all mentioned. it is a repeat of what President Kennedy did, during the Cuban Missile crisis.

Re: Bush ‘taken aback’ by Mush’s allegation

No he is not, as compared to all of the world leaders who make a mockery of democracy like Bush and Blair, he has done nothing. You think he is selling a book but the fact of the matter is, he is telling the truth and it is an embarrassment for the United States that their staunchest allies like Pakistan, U.K and others are not pleased with them handling of this war on terror and so far they have not been treated like friends and respected with their opinions. I think as an American when you hear this and how Blair has to compromise you should be ashamed of this administration on how they are going around bullying every country just for their own interests.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Yes they were mentioned by 'experts', 'think-tanks' but not officially recognized i.e. didn't have govt/official stamp, by Mush speaking out in public we got that now.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

He was threatened to be bombed back to the stone age! Why would he think he would be treated like a friend or his opinion respected? And lecturing others as making a mockery of democracy while praising this dictator-pretending-to-be-democratic makes no sense either.

For the record, I am ashamed of this administration as an American. But that doesn't change my opionion about a world leader dissing gossip and prancing around with 'wait for the book' while still in office. Shamfeul.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

^ I agree it is very shameful, he probably should've invested his personal income in US oil companies and Halliburton if he was that much interested in making money.

Re: Bush ‘taken aback’ by Mush’s allegation

At least we know what he is about, at least he is frank and opens to his people contrasting the two time democratically elected Bush who never opens up with his people. I do praise him because he has done a lot of the country whereas in past five years Bush did make a mockery of democracy. No body trust his words and actions anymore, they know he is two-faced when he talks about spreading freedom and democracy throughout the world.

You call this gossip than you will call all of the important information that Bush held with his public on WMD a tittle-tattle, he is not talking about some personal issues rather national interests and those should be shared with the public.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Two faced? You mean like installing the TalISIban and then throwing them to the wolves? Or talking a tough game on terror but allowing terrorists to roam his mountains. You really think his word is any better than any other poltician? He soothes his radicals at home all the while working with Bush to keep each other in corrupt power.

If he wants to share national interests, then share them. This 'wait for the book' crap shows it to be disengenuous and self serving not to mention tacky and unstatesman-like. Is he competing with Chavez?

And enough with the comparisons to Bush. I don't respect Bush any more than you do, but comparing a 3rd world dictator to the leader of the free world is really irrelevant.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Agreed Bush should only be compared to Osama, the leader of Al CIAda. After all both are vying for the title of the terrorist of the century with Bush ahead when it comes to killing innocent people. What great leaders the so called free world produces, and what free world? say a world against holocaust and you are in jail where hostages are kept in a place called Gitmo, where they rent jails in other countries and torutre people there. Free indeed. Shameful.

Re: Bush ‘taken aback’ by Mush’s allegation

Seminole, your post is getting ridiculous. What is your point? Taliban, you want to know why and how Taliban was in Afghanistan at the first place. Who helped you get rid of them after 9/11 and how they reemerge by whose disinterest?

Wait for the book or telling the fact? He did the right thing; otherwise people would have just dismissed it like a rant but now as U.S is in the hot seat you just kill the messenger. So what is your point?

Yeah, bush is worst than a 3rd world dictator. Try and beat that. If Bush was making bad policies and Americans were not satisfied with him than why did they voted him back? Even if the margin was close and still in this free world society that you so proud of, where are the protestors and impeachments for lies and dishonesty or for supporting a dictator? When the spot light is on you, you are a no show.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

haha 'leader of the free world' and bush lol... bush is a disgrace, learn to admit that, then we'll talk... seriously, its surprising how the majority reelected this clown who makes a fool out of himself every time he opens his mouth...

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

bush is fine. doing well for his country. it's mush who is nanga. he let the pakistan go down. pakistan should never forgive him.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Oh yes, and we need an Indian (eye-Tee expert) to tell us what to do lol...

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

His 'book' answer was simply embarassing!

I hope there is a method to his madness because he is becoming a laughing stock of the diplomatic world.

"Buy my book." Good lord man, you are a president of a country of [edit] 160 million people!

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

^^ Actually its 160 million

Ok, thanks. I'll correct my post.

Re: Bush ‘taken aback’ by Mush’s allegation

But here is the most embarrassing thing for all Pakistanis. Our great army had no clue what AQ Khan was doing with our nuclear technology. 18 tons of sensitive equpiment can vanish from right under the noses of our generals, no wonder they have no clue what taliban or osama are up to.

I wonder if mo293 will believe this or also claim this as part of Western propoganda?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/09/21/60minutes/main2030165.shtml

Neither could Musharraf curb the leaking of his country’s nuclear secrets, apparently, until he was embarrassed in 2003 by then-CIA Director George Tenet. Musharraf claims he only suspected that A.Q. Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program, was passing secrets to Iran and North Korea until Tenet confronted him with proof at the United Nations in 2003.

**“(Tenet) took his briefcase out, passed me some papers. It was a centrifuge design with all its numbers and signatures of Pakistan. It was the most embarrassing moment,” Musharraf reveals. He learned then, he says, that not only were blueprints being given to Iran and North Korea, but the centrifuges themselves — the crucial technology needed to enrich uranium to weapons grade — were being passed to them. “(Khan) gave them centrifuge designs. He gave them centrifuge parts. He gave them centrifuges.” **

Despite the fact that the military was guarding Khan’s nuclear facilities and the total amount of secret material sent from the lab was more than 18 tons, Musharraf denies anyone in the government or military had to know.

“First of all … these centrifuges, or their parts, these are not huge elements. They can be put in your car and moved,” he tells Kroft. “(The shipments) were not done once … They must have been transported many times.”

I saw the interview. It's not an incredible claim that A Q Khan was a maverick and a self-promoter. However, Khan's activities cast a poor light on safeguards placed by the Mush team.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Musharraf has a very loose tongue and cant articulate himself very well which is very surprising given the fact that he is a career military person.

He needs to take some linguistic lessons from his Foreign Minister Kasuri who articulates himself very well

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

When Mush came to power, he projected a very confident image. I remember his interviews: he was calm, composed and articulated himself well. He seemed defensive in this interview. 5 years is a long time to govern a cess pool like Pakistan. It takes its toll on a man.

Re: Bush 'taken aback' by Mush's allegation

Thats why I say that military was involved in all that process, whether it was official or unofficial is a separate issue.
