Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

Wow…Bush ab Zardari ki bhi chutti karanay kay chakkar mei hai…

WASHINGTON: The White House indicated on Tuesday that President George Bush has asked his Pakistani counterpart to do what is good for his country regardless of public opinion when he telephoned Asif Ali Zardari earlier in the day.

This was stated by White House Press Secretary Dana Perino followed a policy speech by President George W. Bush in which he reminded the new Pakistani government that it’s their responsibility to eradicate terrorism from the tribal areas.

Ms Perino, when asked what the US expected from Mr Zardari and what Mr Bush told the Pakistani president when he telephoned him, said: ‘I think President Bush would say that President Zardari is going to have to do what he thinks is right for his country, regardless of public opinion.’ Ms Perino, however, acknowledged that Mr Zardari confronted a lot of challenges both on the economic front, in dealing with the militants hiding in Fata and in trying to establish a better relationship with Afghanistan.

The White House press secretary said that President Zardari also had discussed the situation with US-installed Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the two leaders were ‘trying to forge a good relationship so that they can work together, as well.’

Ms Perino said that throughout his two tenures, President Bush had maintained regular contacts with Pakistani leaders. He met Prime Minister Gilani in Egypt soon after the latter was elected. He met him again at the White House in July when Mr Gilani visited Washington.

‘He talks to them by phone often, and he spoke to President Zardari, this morning. He used to speak to President Musharraf quite a lot,’ said Ms Perino.

‘So his contact is frequent and he believes that having established this good relationship with the Pakistani leadership will be something that the next (US) president will be able to pick up on and move forward with, because that’s going to be very important.’

Ms Perino said that whichever candidate won the November election in the US, ‘will realise how important it is that we keep a strong relationship with Pakistan and other allies to continue to go after extremists.’

Ms Perino said that President Bush also told him that he looked forward to seeing him at the United Nations General Assembly. Mr Zardari is expected to arrive in New York on Sept 22.

The two leaders ‘pledged to continue to cooperate and coordinate efforts,’ Ms Perino said.

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

Bush is used to dealing with a dictator, not a leader who's party was elected by the people of Pakistan

Zardari is used to taking orders from Washington...nothing new.

This is really hillarious..!! I’m sure Zardari (like previous rules) wont utter anything else but "Yes Sir!’

Finally the terms & conditions of bring Zardari on are getting revealed… :what:

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

"do what is good for his country regardless of public opinion when he telephoned Asif Ali Zardari earlier in the day"

Presidents are elected to do, "what is good for their country". Public opinion is that Zardari will take 10% off all government contract. Should Zardari do what is good for the country or follow public opinion?

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

Yeah! Bush would know all about ‘ignoring’ public opinion… :hehe:

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

Bush doesn't care about public opinion that is why public has very low opinion of him. He did not even showed up at RNC convention.

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

So U.S dictation for Pakistan is getting high now?

Pakistan is in very bad situation now. we are still following the American policies and killing out our own people. They (Talibaan) are now started hating us. On the other side Mosad and CIA are engaging different suicide attacks plus religious wars like shai sunni etc in northern areas. All they want these insurgencies should be extended to all over pakistan so that they (Nato and India on the other side) can enter to implement "PEACE" here.

Above of all we r still sleeping and blaming our own people by declaring them terrorists. Believe me if the Talibaan plus all local affectees will stand up against us then BINGOOOO. These people dont bother even super powers (See results of Russian and American attack) to phir hum kis khaet ki mooli hain.

So we need a very intelligent people in order to revamp our foreign policies but alas we have ZARDARI NOW!!!!!!!! And by the way Pakistan = ISLAM so if we dont bring ISLAM here, then i think we are very close to an END. As ALLAH already gave us 61 Years!!
ALLAH KHAIR KARAY

Re: Bush advises Asif to ignore public opinion

chviky, stop pasting the same reply in every other thread. im getting tired of reading that "BINGOOOOOOOOO" thing in every thread i open :P

you rightly whose party was elected not himself!
But i guess Bush can expect everything from a leader who is appointed leader himself of a "DEMOCRATIC" party on the basis of a WILL :) and its easy to bribe someone who love kick bags!
