Re: Bus of women students targeted in Quetta
As far as use of force is concerned, this option has been used a lot more than negotiations.....and you have yet to show me one instance of military operations, in Pakistan, or anywhere in the world, where military forces were able to subdue terrorism by use of firepower.
oh yes many many places..indar ghandi refused to negotiate...did the operation and broke the backbone sikh terrorists
sri lankan army fought with tamil terrorists for 27 years and finally broke their backbone by force

Pakistans problem is far complex as compared to India and srilanka. We have threats from various kind of talebans, LEJ, Baloch militants (BLA, BRA etc) and ethnic violence in Karachi. Srilanka was an island, the enemy was well defined and confined to a particular area where as the militancy in pakistan is spread over a large area, and some of these militants have support from our neighbours as well (both sides of the borders).

Quetta bus bombing was claimed by LeJ spokesperson who identified herself as “Ayesha Siddiqa” - said female member of LeJ had done attack

Only cowards will target women and then attack the hospital ER where the injured are taken. The mayhem created in Quetta is sad. We condemn these cowardly attacks that killed female students, teachers, nurses and hospital staff. Our hearts and prayers go out to their families. Pakistanis are strong and resolute people, there terrorist can attack and kill innocents, but they cannot take away the people’s resolve for peace. We have to all work together and defeat this enemy that is hell bent on destroying Pakistan. We stand by the people of Pakistan in these times of trails and hope that the terrorist organizations are rooted out so peace prevails.

^^So US is coward or the drones used by US?
Re: Bus of women students targeted in Quetta
100s of check posts in Quetta but still the terrorists have their day when ever they want to. The army cannot even secure the red zone. I was watching a program yesterday in which the compere disclosed that the police chief of Quetta has claimed that out of four terrorists killed, two were ordinary people. One person carried out suicide bombing, so military fought against one lone terrorist for four hours.

Does that mean that nawaz and co. would take on the security establishment or will it be same ole same old like the zardari rehmatullah aleh's tenure? Which reminds me, what happened to AP uncle?

ali it is spreading because we did not take care of it for so long.. of course terrorism is like a cancer...
call me pessimistic or whatever but to be honest i have lost hope....the generation that is running pakistan now is in its mid 40s and early 50s and has been raised on zia-syllabus and afghan war fallout ... and i am not talking about politicians only...these people are everywhere ... in the civil establishment, military high command, academia, politicians, general population, businessmen, lawyers....and they are not going to disappear for next 20 years....
this generation is deeply entrenched into vulgarities such as fake jihad concepts, deep conservatism, hate india/USA/West but keep on entertaining china/saudi/iran/uae proxy wars, racial and religious profiling, so-called Islamic renaissance, proxy wars aka take-kashmir-back, afghan-our-strategic-assets, nuclear bomb related global blackmailing and what not....
this titanic called pakistan is sinking...and is sinking fast....at least original titanic had its lights on when it was going down..this sucker has no lights!

someone will have to take care of the military establishment otherwise it will again divide the country. Most probably its better if the resistance comes from Punjab.
Re: Bus of women students targeted in Quetta
Another factor that we have not discussed is Jundullah. This group was operating from Pakistan and carrying out terrorism in Iran. Under pressure the government carried out some operations against them, I am sure te disgruntled elements of this group have also joined hands with LEJ and started cleansing Pakistan instead from Shias.

correction, not terrorism when it is fighting against the regime and her injustices against the sunni minority in iran. inshAllah the sunnis will break out from iran soon.
Re: Bus of women students targeted in Quetta
^ the Sunnis of Iran are from sistan (iranian balochistan) I am not sure if Pakistan would want them to get independent as that would further inflame Baloch separatism in Pakistan.
