although the black magic reason for burying hair and nail does sound acceptable (and interesting), i think now as we are in the 21st century it is not so important. i doubt any one in the salon would keep our hair and do jadoo.
i cut my nails every now and then, have no time to to burials... i feel it's all cultural things and it is not a part of the islamic religion. did Allah tell us to bury/dispose off in a 'correct way' our nails and hair? nope. so why do we go out of our way to complicate religion? that's my two cents worth.
