I’ll address the Muslim nations question as well. In most instances Muslims from Muslim majority nations have migrated to Europe for economic reasons. Europe is seen as the first world beacon of enlightenment and liberalism. Indeed many Europeans take pride in the tolerant traditions of humanism, so all of these proposed bans smack of hypocrisy within the European political framework.
Now let’s return to the Muslim majority nations. Places like Saudi Arabia do not claim to moved by Voltaire or hold any aspirations of multi-sectarian society. Indeed the Saudis explicitly prohibit non-Muslims from entering the holy cities, yet there are plenty of British and Indian expats there for the same reasons (economic). Despite the restrictive society and laws, KSA is not fooling anyone who comes there to work.
The fact that some European nations are threatened by burka clad young and middle aged women is beyond me.
