I was helping out in kitchen n ended up with a burnt hand after dropping hot salan on my hand :(. Within 3o secs it started hurting so that i ended up crying alot . I put toothpaste on the burns but seems like i wl end up with some scars or “challaz”.
an anti-biotic cream so it doesn't get infected. and don't put toothpaste on! get some proper burn medication for it. and when u do get a challa don't pop it. it's good for you. just be gentle with it.
^maham ur message reminded me of the time my full hand got burnt with scalding hot water. I did some research after the burn (whoever thinks of researching this before an incident) and found out that applying the liquid from aloe vera plant (its a whitish liquid that seeps out when you break the leaf of an aloe vera plant) on the burn as soon as possible is the best way to heal it without leaving any marks or preventing infections.
I am planning on getting an aloe vera plant to keep in my kitchen very soon inshAllah :) good luck dear....
the very first thing you need to do after a burn is pour streaming cold (not too cold or freezing) water on it for 15-30 mins. Everything else comes after that.
yeh i used aloe vera its really good i suggest that we shud get the plants it has many benefits.
Also for scarring i heard Bio-Oil is really good its in a orange packaging and get it from chemist like boots or superdrugs
I have epilepsy and a few years back i had a jerk -muscles start going a little mental and an entire pot of boiling namkeen tea landed on my chest. My mum was running around with toothpaste and my aunt saying cold water. my sis was there and she is doc and she told them both ideas were wrong! my mum still smothered toothpaste on me and am afraid to say the tooth paste made it worse and when i went to hospital they couldnt clean the burn bcoz toothpaste had melted into the wound.
was in bed for a few months due to that. I was told in hospital that because of the toothpaste i will have a scar as it had sunk into the layers of my skin and cold water also reacts to the burn. they said to apply a burn cream to keep it soft and prevent infection by covering it with a dressing! NOT cotton wool that will stick to it badly
A word of adice guys buy antiseptic dressing and burn cream . the last thing u wanna do when something like that happens is to improvise!! Trust me been through it!
I dunno how it came about to put toothpast on a burn, to me it seems to make it worst, at least in my experience. Also why put cold water on it. Never have i had a good experience with running cold water on a burn, it seemed to cause the boil/challah full of water.
I definitely agree with the Aloe Vera, helps a lot, tried n tested. Now it may sound strange, but it helps to put Salt on a minor burn...maybe its a old totka or sumthing, not sure. But it helps with the redness and burning. Also antibiotic creme...they sell this burn creme, forget i think its called bactroban at pharmacy, that really helps!
