Burning sensation

What to do if you have a burning sensation after food?specially after eating desi food which is spicy and oily.

Re: Burning sensation

That is heart burn.....you get that most of the time coz you are not having 3 meals a day and all of a sudden have desi food!!!!

U should just get something for heart burn from the pharmacy.

Re: Burning sensation

Sounds like heartburn. You need an antacid, like Pepto Bismol, Gaviscon etc.

Re: Burning sensation

could be ulcers too

mostly it's heart burn. you can have a thin lassi (half water & half yoghurt) after you eat something spicy it will help in subsiding heart burn.

Re: Burning sensation

stop eating greasy, spicy food before you get an ulcer.

Re: Burning sensation

It happens even without spicy food at times?

ulcer isnt just the burning sensation is it?

I have to start drinking water:hinna:

Re: Burning sensation

Its heartburn and I get it frequently if I abuse the spicy food. Zantac works, Prevacid, etc.

You do need to stop eating as much spicy though...:(

Re: Burning sensation

no desi tricks:bummer:

Re: Burning sensation

the only trick i know is some cold milk, that usually works for me if i have a bit of heartburn. maybe ur suffering cos of ur eating patterns? i had a similar problem a few months ago that got quite bad to the extent where i needed to take a course of tablets to shut off acid production in my stomach so i could recover. basically i would skip meals and eat spicy food in the evening which gave me bad heartburn and eventually i started getting heartburn even after eating plain food like toast or cereal. doc recommended that i eat smaller meals and eat frequently and that has helped me a lot. i rarely get heartburn now and it only happens if i dont eat for ages and then eat a big meal

Re: Burning sensation

drinking water isn't going to cure anything. the burning sensation is due to acid reflux, which if it isn't taken care of properly can eventually lead to ulcers. acid reflux can be due to a variety of conditions, including diet. if you know that it is due to hot and spicy foods, then i suggest you stop eating that and try to find healthier alternatives.

cold milk, which can help, will have a pardoxical effect where it increases the production of acid, giving you even more burning sensation. at such a young age, you should not be getting any burning sensation in the first place, so i really suggest that you look at your diet and consult a physician.

Re: Burning sensation

it was due to spices and oil pehle but now almost everything.
