there was no purdaha few centuries ago in those people who r famous for observing burka. Today shuttla kakburka is observed in southern pakhtunkhwa and by pashtuns of balochistan. In northreb pakhtunkhwa women people of north wear nikaab
But it is evident and proven from history and tales that pashtuns women within their land did not wear burka or nikaab.
When mughal emperor babur was doing swat operation at that time, he once saw a daughter of yousafzai sardar distributing sadka n khairat to poors, he was captivated by her beauty and ask his father for giving her in marriage. Later she became wife of him but bear no child
it indicates that there was no burka system in pashtuns. However in India they did pardah bcoz it was land of alien people and it was did by noble people I don’t know what causes pashtuns to wear burka…………bcoz they r wearing burka even in their own areas.
