Burj Dubai, the tower being developed by Emaar Properties PJSC, has reached a new record height of 688 meters. The tower became the world’s tallest after surpassing North Dakota, USA’s KVLY-TV mast (628.8 metres; 2,063 ft) in April 2008. When completed, Burj Dubai will meet all four criteria listed by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), which classifies the world’s tallest structures. All the problem faced by the poor ppl living in Satwa was coz of this building. Shiekh sahib climbed there and when he saw this old construction from that location. He ordered to Demolish this bad looking place. Get the people out of it and make some good villas and green parks etc etc, so the ppl who come to the this height and when they look around the dubai, they should only find good looking places.
The Idea is good.. but on cost of wat?? Poor ppl are thrown away from there and facing probs with accomodation... which is a nightmare in Dubai.

Rents are low now coz of the economic probs.. not coz of the govt... The construction work and the flats etc are now avlble but there are not buyers.. no investros... so thats y the rents came down.. it will go up again... and these poor ppl who are there to earn some bread and butter for their families will be in truoble. In Satwa, In Jaflia even in Dera.. they have destroyed lots of houses.
