If your envy of the sex IQ of school kids is any indication, your knowledge of Karachi’s past and its politics would be lacking as well. Thanks but no thanks.
Don’t worry koran thumping mullah, no one is forcing you to shave off your beard.
As regards theories, If I had had enunciated one, last person I’d think about poking holes in it is a two bit defender of islam and faith as yourself.
when blaming eveything on musharaf is not a right thing...drugs,illegal sex were their before musharaf but yes such things have now become opened and now even teenagers can hire "randi" for few hours on suitable "prices"...
burgers are already badnam people in karachi but now worst thing is tht drungs and sex r now becoming common in every class and area....and government is very well aware of tht....xxx movies r available on every shop....cafes r everywhere...so its equal responsibility of government and people to end such things....unfortunately in last few years such things have increased rapidly....go to rabia city gulstan johar or hawksbay on weekend or seaview or marina club or any place...u will find people doing sex or using drungs comonly and boldly...
now such things have increased to alarming level and our goverrment is well aware of all those places where u find prostitudes and drugs....musharaf might not be interested in doing action against such things as this will be against enlighten moderation
Exactly what I wanted to say, just look at PTV, during the reign of Musharraf bayhayaai and ladeeniyat has become so rampant, more female artists are wearing skimpier clothes and topless male dancers are in vogue; definitely more skin, newsreaders have lost the bit of headscarf they had, dancing has been introduced even in dramas, they are ‘bolder’ and more err sensual when it comes to sex related topics compared to when we were kids and if as much as the ‘chaabi waala teeka’ advert came on whilst there was a female cousin in the room we’d switch channels.
All those skimpy women and sex related topics in the media just frustrates the youngsters further and they don’t have no proper outlet for them so they go to whores and stuff.
Also a glamorous overrated picture is painted of a ‘western‘ lifestyle and those ‘FOB’ kids know no better so they go to ridiculously great lengths to emulate that no matter how low it stoops them.
Can we as a third world country afford to do all this crap? God knows where it’s going to take us, our people will have lost their original identity and values in a matter of decades if things keep going the way they are.
This isn’t the end of it, he’s going to go a lot further with this moderation crap, what else can we expect from a dickhead who idolises Kemal Ataturk?
well no....quranic verses r there...they decided to exclude it but some how, they cancelled tht decision...actually america is trying its best to make pakistan education system according to its requirenment and they r trying to do this especially in pak and NGO,s r their paid agent...very interesting, inspite of changing course and making it according to new modern science, educational committie only excluded ayats or hadiths regarding jahad and another things...and the commmittie who made uch changes were also consists of american paid agents NGO,s....
well actually, somehow religion has been made a "private"masla........and thts y i m against englighten moderation and sectarian thingies.....on the other hand, tabligh jamaat is paying extremely vital in making people religious and away from all such dirty things and "western moderation"
that makes my blood boil, god damn them, we're not even allowed to read our religion in our own land?? if they're going to get rid of Jihad related Aayaat, they may as well get rid of them all, pick and chose "Islam" will do no one any good in this world or in the next.
my dear,in pak, there r some "liberal and moderates" who r even against islamiat and believe me,if "mullahs" were not here, islamiat would have been the past thingy...
we people need to realise tht extremism and western modernization, both r extremely harmfulll forms
Guy1 and Ranjhan, I agree fully. But don't despair. There is till hope. There is actually a wide gulf between the young Pakistan generation of today. They are on two extremes, either they are on the enlightened moderation bandwagon or they are very spritual and in touch with their religion. A decade or so ago you would never notice so many girls taking hijab or young men with beards. And this applies to even upper to middle class families too.
why do you think that seeing men with beards and women with hijab is a sign of progress? Are you conveniently ignoring everyone who decides not to grow a beard or wear a hijab, yet is still in touch with their spiritual side?
Because hijab is required and beard is a sunnah. I am not saying people that don’t do this are not religious, far from it, just that those signs are visible indicators.
Our university has a close knit group of muslim students, and most of us actually do not wear hijabs, and most of the guys do not have beards. But I swear, they are so religious. I know. I tried to hit on one of 'em once, and I was almost excommunicated.
Urgh - its not even a cursory visual factor. its your own conditioning that causes you to look at a group of people in hijabs and beards and consider them religious.
Please dont mistake those bearded guys in karachi wearing green pagris as holy men. They throw acid in women's faces you know.
Are you sure all men with beard and green “pagris” throw acid in women’s faces? And your above comment is not a product of your conditioning? One would think that you would have learned to argue better than this …
