I was expecting a thread about burger appreciation, and how to make some kick ass burgers. The title is misleading...
Re: Burger Culture/Class
There is just one line to describe them, aadhay teetar aadhay batair
or 'kawa chala hans ki chal tu apni chal bhee bhool gaya'!
Moon teerha ker kay fazool si angrezi bolaingay jis main baar baar urdu alfaaz ka istimal huga. They can't even speak Urdu correctly.
U know bol kar uskay baad ka jumla urdu main!
Whenever we go back I try to stick to Urdu. If somebody tries to play the burger impression on me, I make sure I don't speak a single word of Urdu. Kuch Lamhoon main wapis apni aadhi teetar aadhi batair wali urdu per wapis aa jatay haiN.. Ziyada dair angrezi be hazam nahi huti in burgers ko...

Even non burger class do discrimate a lot, people don't know what is discrimination unless they are discriminted against, discrimination is par of our social corruption, non burger middle class do discrimate against even lower strata of society, they only feel offended when they are discriminated against:)

Similar to casteism, upper caste discriminate against lower caste people like Dalits, But dalits discriminate against Paasis also known as Paswans but feel offended and bad when discriminated against:D

Someone else may be having aloo gosht but just because my plate has sookhay paapay in it, that aloo gosht to me would look burger. Meanwhile a third person may be having haleem and to the person having aloo gosht that haleem may look burger. And to me with sookhay paapay in my plate, the haleem may look like a double whopper supreme. Meanwhile the guy who has nothing in his plate may look at my plate with sookhay paapay, and think of it as burger.
Burger is a matter of perspective.

by this analogy are you then suggesting that "burger" = "upgrade" or "improvement"?

Okay you got me there. Growing up I assumed people richer than me with easier access to life's luxuries were burgers. I guess a more apt description would be someone who's trying to be what they are not. Which in most cases were people richer than me with easier access to life's luxuries.

I think its not just the difference of haves and have nots. Alhamd o Lillah, I never wish for things which are source of show-off for Burgers.
