(And It Feels So Good) Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, last seen together in the guilty pleasure romantic comedy The Proposal, are hooking up once again for a new project currently known as Most Wanted. Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider broke the story about this “action comedy” script from The Proposal](The Proposal (2009) - Movie | Moviefone)'s Peter Chiarelli that will reunite America’s sweetheart with the ab-tastic Mr. Reynolds. EW.com is also reporting that Universal is trying to get The Proposal’s director Anne Fletcher on board as well. Uni shelled out a cool $1M for the script.
Reynolds will play a U.S. Marshall who will probably at some point take his shirt off while escorting a suspect (Bullock) to court. They end up on the lam, and hijinks, romance, and hopefully Betty White are sure to follow. It will be wacky, and it will make a lot of money.
EW.com’s Nicole Sperling compares the two to Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, who starred in two romantic Nora Ephron blockbusters, Sleepless in Seattle](Sleepless in Seattle (1993) - Movie | Moviefone) and You’ve Got Mail](You've Got Mail (1998) - Movie | Moviefone). I’m not sure I agree. Bullock seems less purposefully daft than Ryan ever was, and Reynolds is too sexy to be the Joe Everyguy that Hanks had down pat at that point in his career.
I like Bullock and Reynolds’ chemistry, and besides the fact that Bullock is one of the few women who can get a movie green-lit just by attaching her name to a project, according to New York’s Vulture,](The Star Market: The Definitive Vulture Analysis of Divisive Rom-Com Queen Katherine Heigl - Star Market - Vulture) the world obviously has love to spare for this comeback queen. (By the way, one of Bullock’s awards show snogs went to Reynolds’ wife, Scarlett Johansson. It doesn’t mean anything, I just like random coincidences. Or was it?? Kidding!)
Do you think they make a great pair, or should they go their separate ways?
