Hello there!
Well you may have heard that song from Junoon. It looks good, but recently, I got an air of critisim about the way Junoon has sung the song. Well when asked for the details, I was told that they way Ali Azmat goes **BULLEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA… **
is loud, it is be-aadabee of such a great Sufi, Bulleh Shah and his poetry. And that “Khudi ko kar”(written by Allama Iqbal) was also sung in a very bad way by Junoon
What do you think?

when my Mom heard that song she said the same thing but I didnt believe her
is it really true???
i think everyone has their criteria by which they measure what's "right" and what's not...some ppl find qawaali's offensive for that matter...
i personally think they did aiight...as long as their consience is clear bout the matter (hey, the music is good)...same for the Khuddi ko kar bulund itna song...
The kafi "buleyah ki jana" was written by Bulleh Shah himself. This is not anything disrespectful but what the poet is trying is to refer to himself and question his soul about his identity.
As far as Khudi ko karr is concerned, it all depends if you like the song or not. I on the other hand think that the song was well composed and has a real touh to it and the msuic really depicts what Iqbal is saying in the poetry.
Junoon is no one the number Pakistani music group right now. And I know Salman Ahmad personally and he wouldnt do anything disrespectful to the religeon and Pakistan.
