how do you do it?
Re: building relationships
What kind of relationship?
With husband: over the years a certain amount of understanding develops, but you can never take it for granted. If you do, then you can lose momentum.
With kids: you learn as they grow. You evaluate and fix yourself.
With friends: you learn to establish boundaries, for if you don't, you can get in a mess.

As the kind lady above asked, you need to be a little more specific to get better answers. My response however was to the one relationship most people aren't so comfortable or are clueless asking about. The pre-marriage relationship that is, the 1st thing it needs is for you to be patient and gradually build up on it without overdoing anything. Baby steps ftw.
Sorry though, I'm sure someone else will chime in with a better response.
