Our family had an elderly Gujarati Imam Sahib here in England and once I saw a Pakistan flag in his living room, I was surprised and said "Maulvi sahib aren't you Indian?" he said I might have an Indian passport but how I longed for this flag to fly over Dilli back in the 1940s"....
He told me about how Muslims have to make sure they keep the Hindus appeased all the time and if one Muslim steps slightly out of line the whole community bore the brunt..
** We have some Gujarati relatives through marriage and they don't like us talking ill of India but they will do it themselves and even they admit the hostility they have to face in India, I wish Pakistan would offer citizenship to Indian Muslims.**
I do not know if ever muslims in India are refused citizenship in Pakistan. Did you wonder if they dont actually want a Pakistan citizenship.
